The 8th Gabon-UNFPA Cooperation Program, whose implementation began in January 2023, aims to achieve the 3 Zeros of the UNFPA Strategic Plan 2022-2025: zero preventable maternal deaths, zero unmet need for family planning and zero gender-based violence and harmful practices.
As part of its advanced strategy to improve access to quality ASRH services, the country office has developed an entertainment platform for young adolescents. This interconnected platform will be continuously fed with entertaining activities for young people to better convey key messages in Sexual Reproductive Health. The platform will also be connected to a mobile clinic unit that will criss-cross Libreville's working-class neighborhoods.
On Friday October 13, 2024, the QG Jeune mobile clinic made its very first visit to the Nzeng-Ayong district in Libreville's 6th arrondissement.
The minimum service offered included HIV testing, counseling, pregnancy tests, condom dispensing and more. It was carried out entirely by UNFPA's implementing partner, the NGO Sensibilisation Santé Sexualité (3S). Over the past 3 months, more than 5,297 people have been reached by the mobile clinic's services.
