Under the aegis of the United Nations system in Gabon, some thirty women's associations met on November 16 and 17, 2023 for a women's consultation to rethink the new Gabon. Over the course of the two days, the women discussed priority projects and formulated proposals to enrich future national consultations.

Indeed, women make up a significant proportion of the population, and it is essential that they are fairly represented in decision-making processes. Consultations and reflections help to ensure that women's voices are heard and taken into account. The meeting also served to reinforce women's sense of empowerment, with the aim of boosting their self-confidence and encouraging them to play an active role in creating positive change.

After the changes that took place in August 2023 and the arrival of new authorities, it was necessary to reflect on how to promote gender equality, encourage women's participation in decision-making, and create a collective and inclusive vision for the country's future.

The United Nations system saw itself as a facilitator of the circulation of ideas and concertation, creating a space for exchanges to encourage female leadership, essential for progress and societal transformation, economic growth, social solidarity and technological innovation.
